Exporting to the USA can be a daunting task. Where does one start, who do does one turn to when you wish to kick-start efforts to establish a footprint into the huge USA automotive aftermarket?

Australian automotive cooling manufacturer, Davies Craig Pty Ltd turned to Michigan based Facet International Marketing.

Benefitting from Facet’s marketing support and networking, Davies Craig gained traction in the vast USA automotive aftermarket for their range of automotive cooling products supported by solid appearances at SEMA and in the Australian Pavilion at PRI organized by the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association and managed by Facet.

The first step was to examine the major high-profile automotive aftermarket exhibitions being SEMA and PRI Shows.  These would offer Davies Craig the opportunity to showcase its automotive cooling products to the US automotive aftermarket industry.

Facet managed the design and logistics of the Davies Craig booths which enabled the company to exhibit products and meet the buyers of the major warehouse distributors’ who attend both SEMA and PRI. With so many local and international exhibitors under one roof these shows are crucial for overseas companies to exhibit their products to their target audience.

The noticeably clear message that came through from all prospects was the absolute need, almost insistence for Davies Craig to have a warehouse base in the USA. This would enable these major distributors to draw stock on an almost daily basis to satisfy customer demand.  A stateside based, fully stocked warehouse dispelled the notion that, while Australia was a good distance away, it was imperative to have stock available at their ‘back door’ to be able to draw down products on a daily basis.

Davies Craig Pty Ltd has continued to support exhibiting at both shows and successfully forge relationships with major distributors throughout North America for their innovative and growing range of automotive cooling products
